Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup milk (whole, almond, or any milk of your choice)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Ice cubes (optional)
- Whipped cream (optional, for garnish)
- Fresh strawberries (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Wash the strawberries thoroughly under cold running water. Hull the strawberries by removing the green tops and slice them into thin pieces.
- In a medium bowl, combine the sliced strawberries and sugar. Gently mash the strawberries with a fork or potato masher to release their juices. Let the mixture sit for about 10-15 minutes.
- In a separate bowl or large glass, pour in the milk. If desired, mix in the vanilla extract. Add ice cubes if you prefer a chilled drink.
- Stir the strawberry mixture to ensure the sugar is dissolved. Combine the strawberry mixture with the milk by either layering them in a glass or mixing them directly into the milk.
- Pour the strawberry milk into glasses, filling them about three-quarters full. Top with whipped cream and garnish with whole strawberries or slices.
- Grab a straw or spoon and enjoy your homemade drink, appreciating the beautiful colors and delightful aroma.
Notes
- For a richer taste, consider adding a splash of condensed milk.
- Substitute sugar with honey or maple syrup for a healthier option.
- Add mint leaves for a refreshing twist.
- Frozen strawberries can be used if fresh ones are unavailable; just thaw them slightly before mashing.
