These Gooey Salted Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are chewy, buttery, and loaded with melty chocolate and luscious caramel! Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

1 ¼ cups brown sugar, packed

½ cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or chunks

1 ½ cups soft caramels (like Kraft or Werther’s), unwrapped

2 tablespoons heavy cream

Flaky sea salt, for topping
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add in eggs and vanilla, stirring until smooth.

Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the caramels with the heavy cream, stirring constantly, until smooth.

Press half of the cookie dough into the bottom of the prepared pan. Pour the warm caramel over the dough.

Drop spoonfuls of the remaining dough over the caramel and gently spread it out. It’s okay if some caramel peeks through!

Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is just set.

Cool for at least 1 hour, then sprinkle with flaky sea salt, slice into bars, and serve.
