Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza dough
- 1 cup fresh blackberries, rinsed and dried
- 1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup goat cheese, crumbled
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Flour for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Let store-bought dough sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
- Place the dough on the floured surface and stretch it into a round pizza base, about 12 inches in diameter.
- If not using a pizza stone, place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, gently mash half of the blackberries with a fork, leaving the other half whole.
- In another bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and crumbled goat cheese.
- Toss the chopped basil with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Spread the mashed blackberry mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and goat cheese mixture over the blackberry sauce.
- Scatter the remaining whole blackberries over the cheese.
- Sprinkle the seasoned basil mixture over the top.
- Slide the pizza onto the hot stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Ensure the edges are crispy and the cheese is melted and slightly browned.
- Carefully remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
- Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top of the pizza.
- Slice the pizza into wedges and serve warm.
- Garnish with extra fresh basil leaves or a sprinkle of sea salt if desired.
Notes
- For a homemade pizza dough, allow extra time for rising.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of cheese and blackberries based on your preference.
- This pizza pairs well with a light salad or a glass of white wine.
