Description

Enjoy a unique twist on pizza with this Blackberry Basil Pizza, featuring a crispy crust topped with creamy mozzarella and goat cheese, fresh blackberries, and aromatic basil, all drizzled with balsamic glaze for a delightful balance of sweet and savory flavors. Perfect for a fun and flavorful meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pre-made pizza dough
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries, rinsed and dried
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup goat cheese, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  2. Lightly dust your work surface with flour. Let store-bought dough sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  3. Place the dough on the floured surface and stretch it into a round pizza base, about 12 inches in diameter.
  4. If not using a pizza stone, place the shaped dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. In a small bowl, gently mash half of the blackberries with a fork, leaving the other half whole.
  6. In another bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and crumbled goat cheese.
  7. Toss the chopped basil with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  8. Spread the mashed blackberry mixture evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  9. Sprinkle the mozzarella and goat cheese mixture over the blackberry sauce.
  10. Scatter the remaining whole blackberries over the cheese.
  11. Sprinkle the seasoned basil mixture over the top.
  12. Slide the pizza onto the hot stone or place the baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  13. Ensure the edges are crispy and the cheese is melted and slightly browned.
  14. Carefully remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
  15. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top of the pizza.
  16. Slice the pizza into wedges and serve warm.
  17. Garnish with extra fresh basil leaves or a sprinkle of sea salt if desired.

Notes

  • For a homemade pizza dough, allow extra time for rising.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of cheese and blackberries based on your preference.
  • This pizza pairs well with a light salad or a glass of white wine.
